A major expansion to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY - the Draper Museum of Natural History - provided several unique challenges to the structural engineer-of-record RWC. The nationally recognized museum of western history, designed by Fentress Bradburn Architects, has a main element shaped like a large, circular drum, with spiral ramps both around the outside perimeter and the interior to access different display levels. Because of this, the addition required major structural modifications to the existing building, to incorporate the new into the existing while keeping the facility in full operation. The exterior architectural surfaces of the new addition are made up of rugged native stone from the area. General contractor for the project was Jacobsen Construction Company, Inc.

390 Interlocken Crescent, the third building in a multi-office complex along Amber Drive in the Broomfield Business Park has been completed by the same design team used on the previous two structures -

architecture by Gensler and structural engineering by RWC. Built by the Weitz Company, 390 stands 10 stories tall on a high plateau at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and has breath-taking views of the Flatirons Formation of the rugged mountain range. The building's superstructure consists of precast double-tees, beams and columns founded on a reinforced, cast-in-place concrete pier foundation system drilled into and bearing on natural bedrock.
